Victimhood, real and imagined

As I had indicated here, a peculiar aspect of the public discourse on reservations – carried out no doubt through the media – is that the binaries of privilege and victimhood have been reversed between the silent majority for which reservations are sought and the vocal minority of the upper-caste middle class.
